Course Objectives: The student who successfully completes this course should be able to:

• Perform on three woodwinds instruments (flute, clarinet, oboe or bassoon).

• Teach (model, diagnose, prescribe) embouchure formation, hand positions, fingerings, posture, breathing, and body-instrument relationships for all woodwind instruments.

• Demonstrate care and maintenance of woodwind instruments. Use basic improvisational techniques to develop a sense of tonality.
